Columbus is emerging as a leader, but the city is not without its challenges. Many of our brightest students leave the region every year and our emerging entrepreneurial culture is always in need of venture capital. Columbus may possess a wealth of assets but that doesn’t mean we are leveraging them. To truly reach our potential as a community, we need an understanding of needed skills, a clear inventory of current capacity on which business can grow and acceptance of the value of failure.
To explore these ideas and to truly take advantage of Columbus’ unique situation, we will be hosting the 4th Annual Innovate Columbus, “Creating a Marketplace for Ideas,” Thursday, October 4. It’s an event aimed at preparing local companies for new growth while specifically addressing the issues of risk taking in creative culture. IC 2012 will empower and unleash the potential of our assets – as individuals, as companies and as a leading city of the future.
